Alexander has made clear his disdain and contempt for everyone, except for those donors to the (misnamed) Conservative and Unionist Party who happen to have his phone number. Very soon there will be ample opportunity to repay the compliment, very handsomely. The former Attorney General, Dominic Grieve, has spoken of Alexander's 'vacuum of intergrity.' The prime minister's reputation (which was always a hypothetical concept anyway) has already disappeared down this black hole. If we are not very careful, this grotesque nullity will envelop other more valuable things. Take sweet delight in inscribing that magic cross on that special piece of paper while you can: they want to steal even that hard-won right from you.
