That interview with Keir Starmer

So Starmer thought it necessary to bare his soul to the egregious Piers Morgan. He needed to convince us, apparently, of his 'authenticity'. Yes, he was sad when close family members died ! Yes, he is a human being ! Yes, if you prick him, he bleeds !

All this is not only completely irrelevant, but utterly demeaning. There is only one relevant question to ask of politicians: can they do politics ? The governing as well as the campaigning. (Admittedly, there are other, more ideological questions which are inevitably asked of Labour Party leaders: Are you a socialist ? and other such questions which all leaders since the first Keir have found very vexing). As for 'authenticity', it is well known that Alexander's version of it is completely contrived, yet his voters and cheerleaders collude in the pretence that it is not.
